Yesterday morning, at the Grand Canal transport terminal where thousands of sails competed in the past, Tongzhou District held the launch ceremony of the 2025 National Urban Water Conservation Promotion Week. The ceremony was themed "Implementing Urban Renewal Action and Jointly Promoting Urban Water Conservation". Through a series of exciting activities, it injected strong momentum into building a water-saving society and promoting the formation of a new trend of water conservation and protection in the whole society.

The event kicked off with the passionate intangible cultural heritage performance 'Canal Horn'. Inheritor Zhao Yiqiang led the entire audience to call out the "water-saving chant" that incorporates water-saving techniques such as "washing rice and washing dishes with water" and "accumulating small drops into a river", cleverly integrating intangible cultural heritage with modern water-saving concepts, and conveying the voice of water-saving with a unique rhythm. The interactive experience area, exhibition area, and art creation area carefully set up at the event site provide citizens with an immersive water-saving experience. In the interactive area, citizens can not only personally experience the efficient water-saving performance of water-saving appliances, but also experience the water-saving effects in different scenarios through VR simulation devices; The exhibition area showcases 100 outstanding paintings, showcasing water-saving creativity from a childlike perspective; In the art creation zone, citizens picked up their paintbrushes and painted water-saving themed works on site, adding bricks and tiles to the water-saving cause in Tongzhou District. In the interactive Q&A session on water-saving knowledge between the host and the audience, the students actively participated and demonstrated their familiarity with water-saving knowledge, demonstrating the significant effectiveness of previous water-saving propaganda among the youth group.

As a highlight of this event, the "Water Drop Scream" Youth Painting Award Ceremony pushed the atmosphere to a climax. Previously, the Tongzhou District Water Affairs Bureau launched a themed painting collection activity, attracting young people from all over the city to actively participate. Children used their paintbrushes to express their appreciation for water resources. The online mini program "Water Drop Scream" developed in conjunction with it received 120000 views and nearly 50000 likes within a week, attracting widespread attention. Nearly 200 works were collected in the entire district. After expert review, 100 first, second, and third prize works and 50 excellent prize works stood out. These works vividly demonstrate the rooting and sprouting of water-saving awareness among the youth group.

It is reported that this event is hosted by the District Water Affairs Bureau and organized by the District Integrated Media Center. In the coming week, Tongzhou District will also carry out a series of activities such as introducing water-saving knowledge into communities, schools, and enterprises. Through expert lectures, promotion of water-saving technologies, and sharing of typical cases, the water-saving concept will be further deepened. At the same time, Tongzhou District will also rely on the construction of water-saving education bases such as Bishui Reclaimed Water Plant, Tongzhou Experimental Station of China Agricultural University, and Qiantuan Village, promote contract water-saving, and install and charge "one household, one meter" to demonstrate and lead the participation of the whole society in water-saving actions, and continue to write a new chapter for the sub center's water-saving revitalization.
