On August 10th, the Beijing Evening News Readers' Club organized young readers to visit Beijing Xintong Bishui Reclaimed Water Co., Ltd., leading them to experience various aspects of the industry and understand the process flow of sewage treatment.

The tour guide started with the construction of land in the factory area, explaining the reasons and process for the transformation and expansion of the factory area from above ground treatment to undergroundtreatment. After the renovation, the area of the factory changed from 330 acres to 110 acres underground, and the reduced ground area was replaced by a landscape area, allowing young readers to understand that this is a change that comes with the development of urban construction. Afterwards, the young readers were led into a 350 meter long water treatment process corridor. With the guide, they visited the sludge removal workshop, pretreatment area, biological deodorization area, biochemical tank, blower room, water source heat pump room, secondary sedimentation tank, high-efficiency sedimentation tank and other process workshops in sequence. Finally, in the water inlet and outlet display area, they saw the thoroughly cleaned regenerated water after treatment. The young readers were all amazed by this complex and technologically advanced process.

Subsequently, the young readers arrived at the science popularization exhibition hall, where the guide focused on water resources, water environment, and water ecology. Through a sense of technology and immersive experience, the guide explained in detail the water resources situation in Beijing and water-saving tips for the young readers. Young readers also learned about the sewage treatment process and key technologies in the factory. Little readers learned from the visit that the high-quality reclaimed water in the plant is mainly used for river ecological water supplement, municipal miscellaneous water, Universal Studios landscape, and urban green heart landscape, realizing 100% of the reclaimed water resources and multi-purpose reuse, and saving more than 65 million tons of water annually.

Exploring the secrets of sewage treatment plants

Today, I came to Beijing Xintong Bishui Reclaimed Water Co., Ltd., which is the largest sewage treatment plant in the sub center of Beijing, only 2.2 kilometers away from the core area of the sub center. There are multiple academician workstations in Bishui Factory, and we cooperate with multiple universities and research institutions at home and abroad to jointly build experimental platforms, university student internship bases, etc. It has a fertile soil for scientific research and popularization, and are a solid base for science popularization and publicity.

As soon as we entered the gate, the tour guide told us that there were many dangerous places here, which made us have to walk within the yellow line. Many uncles worked underground outside the yellow line, about 15 meters above the ground. There were also many steel plates in the factory. The tour guide said, "These cannot be stepped on because the ground is empty. So we listened carefully to the teacher's explanation. Every time we went there, we listened attentively. This is mainly to treat the wastewater in our daily life. Through many methods, we filtered out the sewage. From this, I learned many water-saving skills in our daily life, such as taking water according to demand, not taking too much waste, using public water bottles less, reducing cleaning water, collecting and utilizing leftover water from thermos bottles and water dispensers. Tail water. I will not discard bottled water that has not been finished. I will start from my daily life, start from myself, save water, and not waste every drop of water. Water is the source of our life, and we must cherish and cherish water resources.
