Guizhou News broadcast | Recycle Recycled Water Guiyang Ingeniously Changes Domestic Wastewater into Ecological Water Supplement

On April 10, 2024, the news broadcast of Guizhou TV Station reported the "Recycled Water Recycling Guiyang Cleverly Transforms Domestic Wastewater into Ecological Water Replenishment", and reported the utilization of reclaimed water with Qingshan reclaimed water plant and other projects as examples.

Recycledwater refers to the water source that replaces tap water and surface water in non drinking areas when domestic sewage or industrial wastewater, after appropriate treatment, reaches a certain water quality index. Guiyang City promotes the sustainable utilization of urban water resources through the pilot project of recycled water allocation.

On the green lawn of Aha Lake National Wetland Park in Guiyang, 48 scattered nozzles are continuously spraying, nourishing 12800 square meters of vegetation.

Using tap water costs over four yuan per cubic meter, saving about three yuan per cubic meter, making maintenance costs even lower for us.

The recycled water used in the park comes from the Qingshan Reclaimed Water Plant, located 3.5km away. In addition to continuously and stably supplying clean irrigation water, the recycled water here has other uses.

The design scale of Qingshan Reclaimed Water Plant is 50000 tons/day, serving a population of 267000 people. We mainly deal with the domestic water used by urban residents, and a portion of the treated recycled water is used for supplementary water use in the Nanming River, while the other portion is used for recycled water conservancy.

Regenerated water, as the second water source for human beings, such as municipal miscellaneous water, including our environmental sanitation, road watering, as well as green water and landscape water. In the later stage, we will also convert resource utilization into energy utilization, and we can use recycled water for centralized heating and cooling.

As of now, there are a total of 49 recycled water plants in Guiyang City, including 19 underground recycled water plants. The recycled water that meets the standards will be used for environmental landscape replenishment, municipal sanitation, landscaping, and other purposes.

This year, we plan to promote the implementation of 11 pilot projects for recycled water. Next, we will actively promote the implementation of recycled water in water source heat pumps, urban complexes, car washing, and industrial utilization projects, striving to achieve diversified and large-scale utilization of recycled water, optimize our reward and subsidy plans, further activate the market for recycled water, and encourage enterprises to invest, so that water users can use recycled water with confidence.
