On the morning of January 2, 2024, amidst applause and the launch of the putter gilding ceremony, the Phase II Expansion Project of Jiaomei Urban Sewage Treatment Plant by China Water Environment in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, successfully commenced operations. This accomplishment marked the realization of an urban ecological complex, featuring a "sunken reclaimed water plant + above-ground ecological sports park", representing a significant triumph in the continuous efforts to combat water pollution in the Taiwanese Investment Zone.

In 2016, the Management Committee of Zhangzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone, in collaboration with China Water Environment, initiated the comprehensive water environment treatment project for Zhangzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone. This initiative propelled the full promotion of the Phase II Expansion Project of the Jiaomei Urban Sewage Treatment Plant. Recognized as a pivotal sewage treatment project in Fujian Province and a vital livelihood project in Fuzhou City, this endeavor incorporates green new infrastructure upgrading technology and adopts a fully sunken construction approach. With a designated treatment capacity of 100,000 tons per day, it effectively addresses over 80% of the region's sewage treatment needs. Notably, the project features a first-stage treatment capacity of 50,000 tons/day for water supply, ensuring effluent quality meets Grade A standards. Following the standard upgrades, the tail water can achieve a Quasi-Class IV water classification.

Since the inception of the project, faced with tight timelines, substantial tasks, and formidable challenges, the construction team has diligently adhered to measures such as site management, quality enhancement, and safety assurance. They successfully accelerated the construction schedule, overseeing the entire process from design to implementation. Despite the complexities, the construction party increased investments in personnel, materials, and machinery, with over 600 workers engaged during the peak period.
