On the morning of September 8, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for UNIDO booth at the 23rd China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) kicked off at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Ms. Fatou Haidara, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and Director-General of Global Partnership and External Relations, along with Huang Shizhong, Vice Chairman of Xiamen CPPCC, and head of UNIDO's Investment and Technology Promotion Offices, attended the ceremony.

At this year's CIFIT, the UNIDO booth zeroed in on cutting-edge technologies for digital and green transformations. The event served as a platform to showcase UNIDO's and its partners' latest strides in sustainable development, "double carbon," and digital transformation. The ESG concept of China Water Environment aligns seamlessly with the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations, particularly SDG6 (clean drinking water and sanitation facilities), SDG9 (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and SDG12 (responsible consumption and production).

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Ms. Haidara, Deputy Director-General of UNIDO, visited the UNIDO booth and engaged in a knowledge exchange on best practices regarding the underground reclaimed water ecosystem in water ecological management and resource utilization with Zhang Lujing, Vice President of China Water Environment. Fatou Haidara commended the Group for its inclusion in UNIDO Global Call 2022's initiative that aims at identifying green and innovative technology solutions towards Net-Zero last year, praising their efforts in water resources protection, aquatic ecosystem restoration, and energy conservation and carbon reduction.

The UNIDO booth centers on digital and green transformations, sharing insights and successful cases from ITPO and its host countries in attracting foreign investment, promoting technology transfer, and advancing inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The Distributed Underground Reclaimed Water Ecosystem of China Water Environment treats sewage as a reliable secondary water source for the city. It involves scientific collection, treatment, and resource utilization.
