The first National Ecological Day home event was held on August 15th in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. On the same day, the "2023 National Ecological Environment Science Popularization Work Exchange Conference" was held to award the "National Ecological Environment Science Popularization Base" jointly announced by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Science and Technology. China Water Environment Group Shanghai Jiading Nanxiang Submerged Reclaimed Water Plant, as a representative of the eighth batch of "National Ecological and Environmental Science Popularization Base," was invited to receive a plaque on site.

At the exchange meeting, Mao Rui, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Regional Platform, gave an award-winning speech. He introduced the innovative practice of the group's distributed sinking and regenerating water ecosystem to the conference guests, with the theme of "Distributed sinking and regenerating water ecosystem supporting urban green and low-carbon development". He regarded green and low-carbon development as the fundamental solution to ecological and environmental problems, and shared in detail the scientific popularization achievements of the national demonstration project Shanghai Jiading Nanxiang sinking and regenerating water plant over the years. He has always been committed to becoming an active disseminator and model practitioner of the concept that green water and green mountains are as valuable as gold and silver.

China Water Environment Group Shanghai Jiading Nanxiang Submerged Reclaimed Water Plant is the first demonstration project of a submerged reclaimed water plant in Shanghai, known as the "most beautiful water plant in China". The construction of a live water landscape park on the ground in the factory area and the first water environment science popularization education center in East China that integrates publicity, science popularization, and education have been awarded honors such as the Top 10 National Environmental Protection Facility Open Units in 2022, Shanghai Environmental Education Base, Shanghai Science Popularization Base, Shanghai Excellent Environmental Protection Facility Open Unit, and Shanghai Water Conservation Science Popularization Point.

The National Ecological and Environmental Science Popularization Base is a science popularization base approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is an important battlefield for popularizing ecological and environmental science and technology knowledge to the public, promoting achievements in ecological civilization construction, and improving the ecological and scientific cultural quality of the whole population. It has a demonstrative role in carrying out social, mass, and regular science popularization activities and is an important component of the National Characteristic Science Popularization Base.

China Water Environment Group will take the first National Ecological Day event as an opportunity to further enhance the awareness of ecological civilization in the whole society, continuously improve the quality of the ecological environment, and promote the formation of a good social atmosphere that advocates ecological civilization for everyone, everything, at all times, and everywhere.
