The first phase of the Hedong Resource Recycling Center, a sub-center of Beijing City, has been officially commissioned. The project, with a designed treatment scale of 60,000 cubic meters per day, complements the existing Hedong Reclaimed Water Plant, resulting in a combined treatment capacity of 108,000 cubic meters per day. This expansion adequately caters to the sewage treatment, reclaimed water utilization, and sludge treatment needs in the eastern part of the city sub-center. Reporter Shan Xiaonan said that "Currently, we are at the reclaimed water discharge outlet of Hedong Resource Recycling Center. The reclaimed water, after undergoing a series of treatments, is being pumped from this outlet. A visual inspection reveals the clarity and transparency of this reclaimed water. Following tests on physical and chemical indicators, it has been confirmed that this reclaimed water meets Beijing B Standard. In other words, it is suitable for various purposes, such as river water replenishment and landscape water use."

The project incorporates a distributed sunken reclaimed water ecosystem, employing technologies such as a flexible and efficient bioreactor, a fresh multi-dimensional air constant cleaning system, and a cloud-based intelligent control system. This approach creates an ecosystem with the integration of plant, network, and river, emphasizing the unity of water and land, and optimizing the integration of carbon, energy, and quality.

Jing Yang, Manager of the Engineering Technology Department at Beijing Hedong Xinze Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., said that "Upon the official launch of our project, the service area spans approximately 24.5 square kilometers. Our project adopts a light guide lighting system, harnessing solar light sources to reduce the energy consumption of underground plants and enhance operational comfort. The multi-mode AO process, achieved by adjusting the sewage inlet, reflux inlet, and the function of each section in the pool, allows for various AO operation modes. Additionally, we maximize the use of carbon sources to improve nitrogen removal efficiency."

Following the commencement of the first phase of the Hedong Resource Recycling Project, it has emerged as the most extensive resource recycling center in the eastern section of the urban sub-center. This development significantly contributes to shaping the urban sub-center into a millennium city characterized by its freshness, brightness, blue sky, greenery, and integrated water elements.
