CCTV Financial Channel | Deciphering the energy-saving and carbon reduction market: A novel approach to low-carbon energy, sewage reuse, and efficiency enhancement

2023-07-12

On July 12, as part of the National Low Carbon Day and National Energy-Saving Publicity Week, CCTV Financial Channel featuredan interview on China Water Environment's innovative green and low-carbon energy supply model. The report focused on the water resources circulation strategy around key industry enterprises' energy conservation and carbon reduction efforts, showcasing the Group's tangible achievements in promoting ecological priority, economic intensity, and green, low-carbon development.

At Guiyang's Jinyang Reclaimed Water Plant in Guizhou Province, the office area's central air conditioner relies on a water source heat pump from the reclaimed water plant. This system efficiently cools and heats the office space by extracting heat from the water plant's tailwater.

Cao Xiaoxin, Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Business District of China Water Environment

Even during the current summer, where temperatures can surpass 30 ℃, the water remains around 20 ℃, providing a substantial temperature difference of 10 ℃. In winter, when Guiyang experiences temperatures around 0 ℃, the water temperature remains between 12 ℃ and 13 ℃, resulting in a temperature difference of over 10 degrees Celsius. This technology effectively utilizes the water source heat pump to provide both cooling in summer and heating in winter.

The success of this technology has expanded into the residential sector, with the completion of the main components of the first batch of residential central heating and cooling systems. These systems can cater to the heating and cooling needs of users occupying an area of 140,000 square meters.

Hou Feng, Chairman of China Water Environment

Compared to traditional methods using electricity and natural gas for cooling or heating, the carbon reduction achieved exceeds 50%, making it a highly efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply mode. The Group anticipates that this technology will contribute to a market scale of 10 billion yuan in the future.

Jinyang Reclaimed Water Plant of China Water Environment adopts the innovative technology system of distributed sunken reclaimed water ecosystem, which not only saves the operation cost and investment in pipe network construction, but also realizes the green and low-carbon development of the city. TheCollection of Typical Cases of Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutralization in Urban and Rural Construction, compiled by the Technology and Industrialization Development Center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, was recently released. Notably, the Guiyang distributed sunken reclaimed water ecosystem by China Water Environment Group has earned its place among the first batch of low-carbon cases featured in the collection.
