2023-07-12

On July 7, the Sichuan Business District of China Water Environment organized the 2023 "Operation Skills Competition" at the Banzhuyuan Reclaimed Water Plant of Xindu Company. A total of 65 contestants from 13 teams in Sichuan participated in the event, resulting in the recognition of one first prize, two second prizes, and three third prizes.

Sponsored by the Sichuan Business District and co-organized by Xindu Company, the competition was conducted based on the principles of "fairness, justice, and openness." It is thoughtfully aligned with the actualities of daily operation and maintenance management, ensuring that the competition content closely mirrors real-world practices in daily work. The competition is structured into three sections: a knowledge competition, a tug-of-war contest, and a practice competition. Among them, the practical competition is divided into four specialized on-site operation categories: electrical, mechanical, operational, and laboratory.

In the knowledge contest, 13 teams engaged in a unified round of questions and answers, totaling 65 rounds of intense competition. Contestants exhibited well-prepared and composed responses, showcasing a robust theoretical foundation. Teams engaged in a spirited chase, vying for knowledge and displaying courage throughout the competition.

The practical competition featured four "battlefields" focusing on electrical, mechanical, operational, and laboratory tests, with participation from all 13 teams. Technicians, maintainers, electricians, and craftsmen from each team participated in the competition, treating it as a real-world scenario. The competition demonstrated not only the contestants' speed, operational proficiency, and teamwork but also highlighted their solid professional skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a resilient mindset.

The competition features a referee group comprising 10 professional instructors from the Business District. This group upholds unified judgement standards, strict competition discipline and fairness, setting a clear standard orientation for participants.

Lin Jian, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Group Operation Management Center and Deputy General Manager of Sichuan Business District, along with other leaders from the business area, awarded medals to the winning team.

The skills contest not only offers employees the chance to learn from each other's strengths but also cultivates an atmosphere of "comparison, learning, catching up, and surpassing." Through the approach of "learning through competition" and substituting training with competition, it evaluates the comprehensive capabilities of frontline operation and maintenance personnel in identifying, investigating, and rectifying hidden dangers. This reinforces safety awareness and skills across all employee levels, fostering enthusiasm for both theoretical learning and practical technology.

Moving ahead, the Sichuan Business District is dedicated to carrying on its role in facilitating knowledge-sharing and leadership of skilled talents. The emphasis will be on training more practical and highly skilled individuals, offering essential talent support for the high-quality development of both the Group and the business district.
