Beijing Radio and Television Station | Wonderful Journey! Where has the tailwater of the urban sub center gone?
2023-04-17In recent years, the Beijing Urban Sub center has taken the battle to defend the blue water as an important lever to promote high-quality development, carried out comprehensive management of the watershed water system, and effectively improved livability and water environment quality. China Water Environment Group relies on the distributed sinking regenerated water ecosystem to build three regenerated water plants in the blue water, Hedong, and Zhangjiawan areas. According to the Class IV water environment quality standard on the surface, the sewage is fully utilized as the second water source in the city, undertaking nearly 90% of the domestic sewage treatment tasks in Tongzhou District, and assisting the green and high-quality development of the urban sub center in water ecological restoration, protection, beautification, and other aspects.
The reporter learned from the district water affairs bureau that as of now, a total of 167 sewage and recycled water treatment plants (stations) have been built in the urban sub center, including Bishui, Hedong, Zhangjiawan, etc. In the first quarter of this year, 2.008214 million tons of recycled water were supplied, mainly used in municipal, road and administrative office areas, power plant cooling water, landscape water replenishment and other fields. The ecological conditions of rivers and lakes continue to improve.
Groundwater plant above ground park
From 'avoiding neighbors' to' benefiting neighbors'
A pool of clean water is hard won, and the invisible regenerated water purification system has been silently producing visible green benefits.
The Yudai River winds its way and surrounds a quiet factory area. Looking south along the 400 meter long central cofferdam, the water surface is wide. Looking north, a water system landscape park covering an area of over 70000 square meters, integrating artificial wetlands and gardens, has been preliminarily completed. The sunlight penetrates through the thin mist, and scattered "broken gold" on the Bishui Lake. At a depth of 15 meters below the lake, the largest regeneration water plant in the urban sub center with a daily processing capacity of 180000 tons, Bishui Regeneration Water Plant, is operating at high speed. This not only undertakes 84% of the sewage treatment tasks of the sub center, but also serves as an important carrier for achieving high-quality ecological development of water resources.
Strolling through the park, waterfalls, fountains, and artificial wetlands, taking a few steps to see the scenery, dotted with continuous seedlings, flowers, and pavilions and squares. "This area was originally a municipal green space. With the construction of the sub center of the city, Bishui reclaimed water plant has completed a magnificent transformation from the original sewage treatment plant to a high-quality reclaimed water plant. The water system landscape in the park uses reclaimed water. After biological+mechanical purification, it flows into wetlands, pools, interactive facilities, and with popular science education display, so that everyone really knows the value of reclaimed water." Wang Hongxu, the project manager of Beijing Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd., the project management unit, told reporters that after a series of scientific and technological treatment and purification by the groundwater plant, the sewage tail water can reach Class IV surface water quality. It is a stable source of recharge for the city green center, Universal Studios, municipal greening, road watering, and Hebei Sanhe Power Plant. Part of it is used for the above ground park, and after being filtered by the technology of the above ground park, the water quality can be improved to level III, meeting the standards of relatives. Beautify the environment, store water with sponges, and showcase popular science, achieving three goals at once.
In addition, there are also many biotechnology and sponge technology hidden in the landscape scenery of the clear water ground. For example, although the area of the science popularization wetland is only 720 square meters, more than 20 aquatic plants are planted, and the lake bottom is covered with lightweight improved planting soil, using biotechnology to provide a breeding ground for microorganisms. At the same time, submerged plants such as foxtail algae and black algae, floating plants such as water spinach, calamus, iris, and emergent plants such as water lilies and lotus flowers are arranged to form a three-dimensional biological system to ensure long-term clean water quality.
Not far from here, there is also a reclaimed water plant called Zhangjiawan Reclaimed Water Plant, which is used for underground pollution control and aboveground greening. This is responsible for the sewage treatment task in the southeast of the sub center, and the regenerated water produced is the landscape water for the Global Theme Park and the three major buildings of the sub center, as well as the supply water source for the administrative office area and Hebei Sanhe Power Plant.
The Liangshui River is separated from here by a road, and clear recycled water gushes out from the outlet. After being purified and upgraded to Class IV surface water, the tailwater is discharged into the river as ecological replenishment. Along the river, China's first river landscape based on canal poetry was also built. This landscape water system starts from Jiukeshu Middle Road in the west and ends at the west side of East Sixth Ring Road in the east. The river is about 2.8 kilometers long, and the water source of the entire water system is jointly guaranteed by Zhangjiawan Reclaimed Water Plant and Bishui Reclaimed Water Plant.
The landscape water system has also been optimized through green space design, utilizing measures such as grass planting ditches, rain gardens, and sunken green spaces to strengthen rainwater collection. The pipeline layout has been optimized with the design concept of "slow discharge and slow release" and "dispersed source", increasing rainwater regulation and storage capacity, and achieving an annual runoff control rate of 90%. The ecological environment on the riverbank has improved now, with clear water and green banks. After tea and meals, everyone takes a walk along the river to enjoy the beautiful scenery, "praised nearby villagers.
The first phase of the Hedong Resource Recycling Center project is also a sunken reclaimed water plant, and an ecological green park will be built on the ground in the future. At present, the main structure has been capped, and 95% of the secondary structure and decoration have been completed. It will be put into trial operation by the end of this year.
Jing Yang, the manager of the Engineering Technology Department of Beijing Hedong Xinze Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., the project party, introduced that after more than ten years of research, the "tailwater", which refers to urban sewage, is used as the second water resource, second green energy, and second land resource to create a distributed sinking regenerated water ecosystem that integrates the factory, network, and river, water, land, and ecology, and carbon energy and quality integration. It consists of ten major technologies, including flexible and efficient bioreactors, "fresh" multi-dimensional air constant purification systems, and "cloud based" intelligent control systems. After completion, it will form a total processing capacity of 108000 tons/day with the existing Hedong Reclaimed Water Plant, meeting the sewage treatment, reclaimed water utilization, sludge treatment, and some heating needs in the eastern part of Beijing's urban sub center. In the later stage, with the addition of land treatment and green energy, it will achieve efficient utilization of water resources, land resources, and green energy.
In the past, when it comes to sewage treatment plants, many people's first reaction was often 'dirty, messy, and smelly'. However, now we are striving to turn the reclaimed water plant into a beautiful scenery line in the city, and transform the 'neighborhood avoidance' effect into the 'neighborhood benefit' effect. "The person in charge of the district water affairs bureau said that in the urban sub center, projects such as the Bishui reclaimed water plant, which combines underground water plants with above ground parks, form a sewage treatment system for industry, academia, and research. This not only maximizes the use of valuable land and water resources in the city, but also provides good leisure and entertainment venues for citizens. Production and ecology grow together in urban public spaces, becoming a model for the integration of citizens' leisure and nature.
