The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center and China Water Environment Group have announced that they will cooperate to establish the "Green and Low-carbon Water Environment Research Center of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center" and take advantages of both sides to build a professional platform for technology development, talent training and industry incubation in the field of water environment, so as to accelerate the transformation of national scientific and technological achievements into production. 

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center, as the first comprehensive national technology innovation center in China and a key national strategic scientific and technological force, takes the transformation from scientific discoveries to technology as its core function and takes the industrialization of major basic research achievements and the development of original innovation as its core mission to construct a global collaborative innovation system.

On the signing ceremony, Wang Jixiang, director of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center, introduced the concepts of "breeding" in universities, "seedling raising" in the Center and "material fabrication" in enterprises, and the development model of technological innovation driven by "demand". He pointed out that the value of technological innovation should be evaluated at the application level, and the degree of value realization is closely related to the level of the whole industrial chain, while leading enterprises will play a leading and supporting role in the high-quality development of the whole industrial chain. He said that environment is the biggest comprehensive discipline application scenario, and the Center will build a high-tech park with leading enterprises as the leader, relying on the industrial advantages of China Water Environment Group and with Tongzhou Base and Bishui Project as carriers. Focusing on multidisciplinary collaborative innovation in the whole industry, the Center will help China Water Environment Group become a leading enterprise in water environment governance, technology development and industrial cultivation, and provide reference for national industrial innovation and scientific and technological system reform.


Wang Hao, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, believed that the establishment of the Green and Low-carbon Water Environment Research Center is a concrete practice to implement such dual national strategies as scientific and technological innovation and peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality in the new era. The innovative technical route of distributed sunk system of China Water Environment Group can help construct comprehensive solutions for water environment governance and resource utilization according to the characteristics of different urban water systems and water resources needs, and achieve the goal of saving water, land and energy. The system has been successfully applied in 21 provinces, and the two parties will cooperate to build a good innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Wu Qiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the establishment of the Green and Low-carbon Water Environment Research Center has really solved the problems that industry, academia, research and application are difficult to integrate and scientific and technological achievements are difficult to be transformed into products.

Dr. Hou Feng, Chairman of China Water Environment Group, said that China Water Environment Group will take the distributed underground reclaimed water ecosystems as the core, overcome the "bottlenecked" technology through the Green and Low-carbon Water Environment Research Center and Tongzhou Future Water Ecology Green and Low-carbon Science and Technology City, jointly promote the research and development of cutting-edge technologies, and provide Chinese solutions, technologies and equipment for the world water environment treatment and resource utilization.
