CWEG Invited to the First Meeting of the PPP and Infrastructure Financing Network in the Asia-Pacific Region

      On September 12 to 13 of 2018, with thesupport of the China PPP Center of the Ministry of Finance and the GuizhouProvincial Finance Department, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia andthe Pacific (ESCAP) convened the First Meeting of the PPP and InfrastructureFinancing Network in the Asia-Pacific Region at the City of Guiyang, GuizhouProvince, China. The meeting gathered nearly 80 attendees, including the headsof PPP units from 22 countries in the Asia-Pacific Region, China PPP Center ofthe Ministry of Finance, Guizhou Provincial Finance Department and relevantprovincial departments, as well as private sector investors, to explore the PPPmodel for the pursuit of sustainable infrastructure development in theAsia-Pacific Region. CWEG Vice President Li Guoshan attended and made a speech.Attendees visited the site of CWEG’s Guiyang Nanming River Water EnvironmentManagement PPP Project during the meeting.
     Li Guoshansystematically introduced the national PPP demonstration projects implementedby CWEG, such as the Guiyang Nanming River Water Environment Management PPPProject, Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment ManagementProject, and Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management Project. Theseprojects were highly recognized by attendees for creating satisfactory effects,economic and social benefits, while ensuring Value for Money.

      AsLi stressed, by “leaving professional fields to experts”, CWEG always holdsitself accountable throughout the entire project period from design,investment, construction to operation, and relies on its technical know-how,innovative concept and professional management team to empower the people toenjoy the fruits of ecological civilization.
      During the meeting, attendees visitedthe Qingshan Underground WWTP and the aboveground Guiyang Water EnvironmentScience Museum, and learned about the project’s investment, construction andoperation status. CWEG’s high-standard underground WWTP system and GuiyangNanming River Water Environment Management PPP Project received positiverecognition from foreign attendees. As a PPP-based example, the project is ashowcase of CWEG’s leading water environment management technologies and shouldbe widely promoted in the Asia-Pacific Region and Belt & Road countries asan exemplar project in the fields of water environment management and municipalservices.
