People’s Daily Online: CWEG and CTG Sign Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Intensive Cooperation in the Protection of the Yangtze River

     People’s Daily, October 17. Recently, CWEG and China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on the protection of the Yangtze River. CTG Party Secretary and Chairman Lei Mingshan, CTG Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager Wang Lin, CTG Deputy General Manager Sun Zhiyu, Yangtze River Protection Leading Group deputy head Sha Xianhua, CITICPE Chairman Liu Lefei, CWEG Chairman Hou Feng, and CWEG Vice Presidents Chen Ming, Shao Yanqing, and Fang Yong attended the signing ceremony. On behalf of CWEG and CTG, Hou Feng and Sun Zhiyu signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on the Protection of the Yangtze River, according to which, both parties will carry out intensive cooperation in the protection of the Yangtze River. 



       Prior to the signing ceremony, CTG, CITICPE and CWEG introduced their business. 
       According to the addressor of CTG, CTG is the world’s largest hydropower development and operation company, and China’s largest clean energy group. It is also a platform for the implementation of the Yangtze River Protection Project. The addressor said in the current context that high-quality green development is a focus of China, the protection of the Yangtze River, a great cause for the benefit of the Chinese nation, needs the professional strength of CWEG. The addressor hoped that CWEG may join the Yangtze River Ecological and Environmental Industry Alliance as a core member, to achieve mutual complementarity and benefits. 
      The addressor of CITICPE said that CITICPE has long been concerned about industrial investment in environmental protection, energy, and green sustainable development, and is looking forward to building a model of urban infrastructure cooperation development together with CTG. 
   The addressor of CWEG said that CWEG has advanced technologies, and had successfully carried out a number of Ministry of Finance demonstration projects in the field of water environment management. CWEG is also the Chief Editor of national standards and guidance for underground WWTPs. In the future, CWEG will strengthen cooperation with CTG relying on its professional strength, to jointly explore new paths for water environmental protection in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.
