Sichuan Satellite TV: Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management PPP Project: Public-Private Efforts Create Clean Waters
2018-11-28 On November 28, 2018, Sichuan Satellite TV News Channel reported the revisit of the Central Ecological Environmental Protection Inspection Team to Guang’an. They highly praised Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management PPP Project invested, built and operated by CWEG, saying that the project provides advanced concepts and experience for the water pollution prevention and control battle.
The report points out that in the wake of rapid industrialization and urbanization, water pollution control has become an important topic. In the absence of funds and technology, the CPC Guang’an Municipal Committee and Guang’an Municipal People’s Government introduced CWEG to invest, build and operate the Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management PPP Project.
Relying on the competitive professional strength of CWEG, Guang’an took the lead in carrying out PPP projects in Sichuan Province, and solved water environment problems in all drainage watersheds through project packaging. So far, CWEG has invested about RMB 1.6 billion in Guang’an to build 10 urban and park WWTPs, 85 township wastewater treatment stations and 110 sewers.
The report speaks highly of CWEG’s outstanding contribution to the environmental protection of Guang’an, and introduced in detail the operations and technical advantages of Guang’an Second WWTP. As one of the key projects in the “Clean Water Action” Plan, Guang’an Second WWTP is the first underground WWTP in Sichuan Province. It adopts optimized multi-stage AAO (anaerobic-anoxic-aerobic) process and CWEG’s fifth generation of patented underground WWTP system, producing effluent meeting Surface Water Quality Standard Class IV. Featuring state-of-the-art treatment process and technologies, the plant is a good demonstration of “eco-friendliness, land intensiveness and resource utilization”.
“To constantly improve the water environment quality for humans” is the mission of CWEG. Its efforts in Guang’an have significantly enhanced the quality of the city’s urban and rural water environments, and provided effective protection to water bodies across Guang’an where clean water has come back.
