On October 18, at the 2025 Global Leaders Conference on Sustainability, the Green Design International Contribution Award was officially announced. China Water Environment Group, along with 12 industry-leading enterprises including Alibaba, Kweichow Moutai, China Construction Bank, and Baowu Steel Group, jointly received the "ESG Pioneer Enterprise Award" from the World Green Design Organization (WGDO). This award not only reflects the high recognition from an international authority on the Group's sustainable development capabilities but also signifies that China's water utility enterprises have achieved world-leading ESG management standards.

The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference (hereinafter referred to as the "Conference") will be held in Shanghai from October 16th to 18th. The conference, approved by the State Council, is jointly hosted by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, co organized by the Beijing Office of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS Foundation), and organized by Sina Finance and the Beijing Representative Office of the World Green Design Organization. The theme of the conference is "Joining Hands to Address Challenges: Global Action, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth", aiming to gather global forces and promote cross-border collaboration and practical innovation in the field of sustainable development.

At the closing ceremony of the conference on October 18th, Ban Ki moon, the 8th Secretary General of the United Nations and Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia, Chen Chengchuan, President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, Chen Wenhui, former Vice Chairman of the National Social Security Fund Council, and Ding Hui, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's Center for Foreign Cooperation and Exchange, delivered keynote speeches.

As an important part of the conference, the 2025 Green Design International Contribution Award and ESG Excellent Leading Enterprise Award ceremony was held. Jo Leinen, Honorary President of the World Green Design Organization and former Chair of the European Parliament's China Relations Delegation, and Janos Pasztor, Vice President of the World Green Design Organization and former Assistant Secretary General for Climate Change, jointly presented awards to the award-winning companies. International politicians, industry representatives, and experts and scholars from around the world gathered at the scene to witness this moment of honor together.

The World Green Design Organization (WGDO) was established in Brussels, Belgium in 2013 and is the world's first non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting the development of green design.
