March 22 marks the thirty-third “World Water Day,” and March 22 to 28 is the thirty-eighth “China Water Week.” As an important participant in water environment management, the group empowers water resource recycling with technology and practices ecological civilization through action. During this period, the group actively responded to the theme “Promoting High-quality Water Resource Development and Ensuring China’s Water Security.” All business regions worked with local governments and society to organize diverse activities, encouraging everyone to know, cherish, and save water.

On March 23, the 77th session of Guiyang’s “Discovering the Mysteries of Green” series, titled “World Water Day Volunteer Activity: Unlocking the Password of Water Regeneration,” was held at the Qing Shan Reclaimed Water Plant of China Water Environment Group. The event attracted more than 30 children, parents, and volunteers, who together explored the mysteries of water resources and experienced the magical process of water regeneration.

On the day of the event, led by the staff, everyone visited the key links of sewage treatment in turn, including the coarse screen, fine screen, aeration tank, secondary sedimentation tank, and high - efficiency sedimentation tank. Through on - site visits and professional explanations, they gained a detailed understanding of the entire sewage treatment process, from sewage collection and pretreatment to biochemical treatment, advanced treatment, and finally disinfection and discharge. They witnessed the magical transformation of sewage from turbid to clear with their own eyes.

During the visit, the children showed great interest and curiosity. They gathered around the tour guide, listening attentively and constantly asking various questions. “Uncle, how does the sewage become so clean?” “What can we do with this clear water?” The tour guide patiently answered each question, allowing the children to learn through exploration and grow through learning.

In addition to visiting the reclaimed water plant, the event also featured a “Science Experiment Classroom.” Through the activity of observing microorganisms under a microscope, children had the opportunity to closely observe the microorganisms in water and understand their important role in the water treatment process. Under the microscope, the children saw variously - shaped microorganisms. Through observation, they learned that these microorganisms are “little helpers” in sewage treatment. They can break down the organic matter in sewage and purify the water quality.

After the event, many children said they had gained a lot. “It's so amazing. Through the microscope, I saw lots of tiny bugs, and they can help us make dirty water clean. I've learned so much new knowledge today, and I want to join such a popular science activity again next time,” said Luo Chengyu, a second - grade student from the primary section of Guanshanhu No. 10 Middle School.

Wu Xiran, a fifth - grade student from Jiaxiu Primary School, said, “Today's activity is very meaningful. I learned that sewage can be regenerated through physical treatment, chemical treatment, and advanced treatment. The treated water can be used for irrigation and watering flowers, achieving recycling. We should also develop the good habit of saving water in our daily lives and protect our water resources.”

It is reported that this event is one of the series of activities of “China Water Week” held by Guiyang Ecological Science Popularization Museum. It aims to let participants experience the process of domestic sewage becoming clear from turbid at close range, to increase knowledge of water environment management, to enhance awareness of water environment protection, to stimulate the internal driving force of the whole society to jointly protect the ecological environment, and to contribute to the construction of a “waste - free city.” The event was hosted by Guiyang Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, undertaken by Guiyang Environmental Protection Publicity and Education Center and Guiyang Ecological Science Popularization Museum, and co - organized by Guizhou Business District of China Water Environment Group and Guizhou Traveling Classroom Travel Service Co., Ltd.
