2025-03-25

March 22 marks the thirty-third “World Water Day,” and March 22 to 28 is the thirty-eighth “China Water Week.” As a key player in water environment management, our group uses technology to boost water recycling and supports eco - civilization through action. During this period, we echo the theme “Promoting High-quality Water Resource Development, Ensuring China’s Water Security.” All our business regions work with local governments and society to organize diverse activities, encouraging everyone to know, cherish, and save water.

Marking the thirty-eighth "China Water Week," Bishui Reclaimed Water Plant, the largest sewage treatment plant in Beijing's Tongzhou District, set up an environmental protection volunteer team and was granted a flag by the Beijing Municipal Ecological Environment Protection Publicity Center.

Over 40 teachers and students from Tongzhou District's Canal Elementary School were invited as volunteers to the water plant. They experienced an immersive science course themed "Know and Use Water Well, Save Water Together." Holding water - saving experience cards, they followed the sewage treatment process frompretreatment, aeration tank, to the final high - efficiency sedimentation tank and UV disinfection.

In the water environmental protection science popularization hall, through water knowledge exhibition areas and interactive games, they realized the significance of cherishing and saving water.Bishui Reclaimed Water Plant treats 84% of the sewage in Tongzhou's developed area. The treated water is entirely used for ecological replenishment and municipal greening, saving about 65 million tons of tap water annually.

As the only national environmental protection facility open to the public in Tongzhou, since 2024, it has been creating Beijing's first water - saving full - chain publicity and education base through facility upgrades.

This event was the volunteer team's first activity. The plant will continue to spread water environmental protection knowledge and carry out volunteer activities.

Lv Xiaofei, a member of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of the Tongzhou District Ecological Environment Bureau, said that next, Tongzhou will further leverage the positive role of environmental education bases and organizations, encourage all sectors to participate in ecological civilization construction, and jointly protect Beijing's beautiful environment.
