The Sino German Environmental Technology Innovation Center unveils its plaque in Germany to assist in the construction of the National Green Development Demonstration Zone in Beijing''s urban sub center

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of deepening the strategic partnership between China and Germany, the signing ceremony of the Sino German Environmental Technology Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Sino German Center") was held in Frankfurt, Germany on May 27, 2024.

Marcus Joswig, General Manager of PIA GmbH in Germany and Director of the Sino German Environmental Technology Innovation Center, warmly welcomed the arrival of the Chinese delegation. He stated that this cooperation is a new model of industry university research cooperation based on the six-year continuous cooperation between China and Germany in the field of water environment and health. The signing of the strategic cooperation agreement promotes the further establishment of a long-term, comprehensive, and in-depth strategic partnership between China and Germany.

Hou Feng, Chairman of China Water Environment Group, stated that as early as 2014, the group settled in Tongzhou and undertook nearly 90% of the sewage treatment tasks in the Beijing sub center. Over the past 10 years, the group has witnessed and participated in the economic and social development of the Beijing sub center, laying a solid foundation for the "Sino German Environmental Technology Innovation Center" in Tongzhou, China. In the future, we have the determination and ability to build the Sino German Center and Tongzhou Water Ecological Green and Low Carbon Technology Demonstration Project in the Beijing Urban Sub center, contributing our common wisdom and strength to the world's water environment governance and resource utilization.

Meng Jingwei, Secretary of the Tongzhou District Committee of Beijing, stated that in recent years, water ecological environment protection has been an important component of the planning and construction of the National Green Development Demonstration Zone in Beijing's sub center. The comprehensive management of water environment has been carried out systematically, and efforts have been made to fight the battle of protecting clean water. The quality of urban and rural water environment has been significantly improved.

The construction and innovation of Beijing's urban sub center utilize live water resources and fully promote the recycling and utilization of sewage resources. In cooperation with China Water Environment Group, a blue water recycling plant with integrated plant network, river and lake distribution and sinking has been constructed. The daily water treatment capacity is 180000 tons, achieving 100% comprehensive utilization of water resources. The service scope of recycled water also radiates to the surrounding areas.

The China Germany Center has long provided innovative solutions for water environment governance, promoting bilateral cooperation in the field of water environment between China and Germany, and becoming an international cooperation bridge to promote environmental technology innovation. I hope that this signing will serve as an opportunity for the Sino German Center to continue to leverage its professional advantages and international influence, further deepen cooperation with Tongzhou District in environmental protection technology innovation, talent cultivation, and other aspects, and provide more technical solutions for deepening the construction of the national green development demonstration zone.
