The 31st World University Summer Games will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan from July 28th to August 8th. At this Universiade, leaders of Indonesia, Mauritania, Burundi, Guyana, Georgia and other countries came to China to attend the opening ceremony and visit. The visiting leaders covered four continents of Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe and were widely representative. During this period, China Water Environment Group Chengdu Tianfu New Area First Reclaimed Water Plant, as a key unit for Sichuan foreign affairs visits, received a delegation of enterprises from the Guyana Cooperation Republic, and introduced them to the innovative models and technological practices of Chengdu Park urban planning and water environment governance, conveying China's efforts for sustainable urban development.

The First ReclaimedWater Plant in Chengdu Tianfu New Area is the largest sunken recycled water plant in Sichuan Province. At the First ReclaimedWater Plant in Tianfu New District, Chengdu, Liu Chengjun, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Zhiyu Tiancheng Design Consulting Co., Ltd., detailed the construction concept of a distributed underground reclaimedwater plant that is "environmentally friendly, land intensive, and resource utilization" to Krishna Persaud, Trade Advisor of the Guyana Presidential Palace, and 16 entrepreneurs, as well as the ecological water environment engineering treatment of Chengdu Science City. The "above ground park+underground treatment" model of the reclaimedwater plant has left a deep impression on visiting foreign guests.

The project was originally planned to build a centralized sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 260000 tons per day, but the construction of such a large-scale centralized sewage treatment plant is difficult to meet the needs of park city development. After repeated analysis and judgment, the plan has been optimized to build the first recycled water plant in Chengdu Tianfu New Area with a scale of 100000 tons/day, and to build three more recycled water plants along the Luxi River. This not only saves about 30% of the overall investment, but also achieves 100% utilization of water resources, land resources, and green energy. High quality effluent is used for municipal greening and water replenishment in the Luxi River, while saving 330 acres of land with a land value of approximately 2.6 billion yuan. It also provides 496 shared parking spaces for West China Tianfu Hospital. In terms of green and low-carbon, this project replaces green energy in sewage, providing cooling and heating for the comprehensive office building in the factory area and the West China Tianfu Hospital, with an annual carbon reduction of about 11000 tons.

The First Reclaimed Water Plant in Chengdu Tianfu New Area was awarded the first batch of "Key Units for Sichuan Foreign Affairs Visits" in April 2022, becoming a new platform for Chengdu to expand international exchange and cooperation. At the same time, the project is also a national level environmental protection facility open unit, and has welcomed over 15000 visitors from home and abroad to visit and learn. It fully serves as an important window and ecological business card for Sichuan's external exchanges, helping to protect the ecological environment and promote coordinated economic development in Sichuan.
