Successful Inauguration Ceremony of Sino-German Innovative Environment Technology Promotion Association

On April 4, 2023, the inauguration ceremony of the "Sino-German Innovative Environment Technology Promotion Association" jointly organized by China Water Environment Group, RWTH Aachen University, and the German Institute for Testing and Research of Wastewater Treatment Technology (PIA) was successfully held in Aachen, Germany. Professor Thomas Wintgens, Director of the Environmental Engineering Institute (ISA) of the RWTH Aachen University, Senior Researcher Yao Gang, Dr. Elmar Dorgeloh, German Institute for Testing and Research of Wastewater Treatment Technology (PIA), Dr. Jutta Niederste-Hollenberg, Vice President of the German Enterprise Wastewater and Rainwater Catchment Association (FBR), Researcher Liu Gang of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhang Lujing, Vice President of China Water Environment Group and Dr. Pang Hongtao, Assistant to the President, attended the meeting.

CWEG and RWTH Aachen University co-established the "Sino-German Centre forWaterAnd healTh researCH—WATCH” in 2017, which was supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China. CWEG has carried out cooperation with Germany in the detection technology and standards of rural decentralized sewage treatment facilities and has made significant contributions to the standardization of China's rural sewage treatment facilities market.

The "Sino-German Innovative Environmental Technology Promotion Association" marked an enhancement of the cooperation between the "Sino-German Centre forWaterAnd healTh researCH—WATCH", aiming to promote technical exchange, scientific collaboration, product testing and evaluation, industrialization, and personnel training between China and Germany, and to further bolster bilateral environmental protection technology innovation and market development.
