Good News | China Water Environment Group Wins the Bidding on Urumqi Project with Service Expansion to 21 Provinces
2021-06-09Recently, CWEG has won the bidding on Urumqi Qidaowan WWTP Extension PPP Project. With a total investment of RMB 520 million and a cooperation period of 27 years, this project adopts the BOT mode in a modality of semi-underground and full coverage. Processing more than 70,000 tons of waste water per day, it mainly deals with domestic and industrial sewage in Jianquangou section of Tianshan District, Shuimogou District and Jiawan District.
Xinjiang, as a focus area of national construction to build the "Belt and Road Initiative", plays a pivotal role in linking the Northwest China to Central Asia and Western Asia. Being a core city of the Eurasian Land Bridge and an important gateway for interconnection and interworking, Urumqi’s prominent strategic position is taking shape. The completion of this project will be creating a good living environment for Urumqi’s sustainable development and setting a solid foundation for reinforcing its integrated competitive ability.
This successful bidding conducted in Xinjiang is a breakthrough for the CWEG. It showcases the group’s practices of China's major strategies like ‘the Belt and Road Initiative” and the Western Development Policy.
