CWEG Donates to Fighting Against COVID-19

In December 2021,anCOVID-19outbreak hit Xi’an. China Water Environment Group (CWEG) responded quickly to the emergency. CWEG’s Yanta Qiwang WWTP and No. 12 WWTP, which play a key role in Xi’an’s wastewater treatment, and act as thelast line of defense to block the spread of the virus, stood their ground against the pandemic, and CWEG donated more than 30,000kgof vegetablesand meat to Xi’an as aresponsiblecentrally-administered state-owned enterprise.

Tosend relief materialsto Xi’an as soon as possible,CWEGAnkangbranchset up a team to purchase materials locally,primarily from poor villages in Ankang City, Shanxi. This not only addressedtemporaryfootshortagein Xi’an, but also promoted local poverty alleviation.

On January 11, four trucks full of relief materials, which contained CWEG’s care for people affected by the pandemic, and kindness to farmers in poor mountainous areas,set off for Xi’an.Xi’an Chang’an District COVID-19 ControlHeadquartersthanked CWEG for the donation, which,accordingto them, would effectively address the foot shortage in Xi’an.Donated materials were provided to affected people through charitygroups, relevant enterprises and communities, helping themtide overthe tough time.

 

CWEG’s quick response and generous donation well demonstrated its social responsibility, and contributed to the recovery of Xi’an from the pandemic.
