CWEG Expert Committee Holds 2021 Annual Plenary Meeting, Proposing “Technology-led, Industry-driven” Solutions

The 2021 Plenary Meeting of China Water Environment Group (CWEG) Expert Committee was successfully held in Beijing on December 26, 2021. The participants analyzed national policies and industry trends during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and proposed innovative technological solutions. The meeting was hosted by Pang Hongtao, Executive Deputy Director of CWEG Engineering Technology Center.

The Expert Committee has offered valuable inputs for the Group to make scientific decisions and realize high-quality development. Both online and offline meeting was held. Six experts, including Academician Peng Yongzhen from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Shi Hanchang, Prof. Zuo Jian’e and Prof. Hu Hongying from Tsinghua University, Prof. Li Jun from Beijing University of Technology and Prof. Li Junqi, Vice President of Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture attended the meeting physically while other 14 experts, including Prof. Kong Hainan from Shanghai Jiaotong University, joined the meeting online.

At the meeting, Academician Peng Yongzhen, Prof. Shi Hanchang, and Prof. Zhang Yuan made keynote reports respectively, which are themedPilot-Scaled AAO-BAF Enhanced Anaerobic Ammonia Oxidation Denitrification of Urban Wastewater Coupled with Denitrification Phosphorus Removal,Carbon Emission Reduction and Intelligent Operation Technology of Wastewater Treatment Plants, andEnvironmental DNA Water Ecology Monitoring Technology and Application. Online attendees actively discussed difficulties and pain points badgering the water environment industry and how CWEG should enhance its technologies.

CWEG Chairman Dr. Hou Feng issued appointment letters to four experts (Zuo Jian’e, Chen Jing’an, Hu Hongying and Jiang Yunzhong).

Chairman Dr. Hou Feng gave thanks to the experts for their support and contribution to the Group, vowing that the Company would continue to work with them on industry-university-research cooperation. By taking advantage of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Technology Innovation Center’s Green Low Carbon Water Environment Research Center, the Group would overcome bottlenecks, jointly promote the R&D of cutting-edge technologies, and contribute Chinese solutions, Chinese technology and equipment to the world for water environment management and resource utilization. 

CWEG Vice President Fang Yong, Vice President Zhang Lujing as well as personnel from Engineering Technology Center, Administration Center, Construction Management Center, Market Development Center, Operation Management Center, and Strategic Development Department attended the meeting.
