CWEG Chairman Hou Feng: Over the past two years, the PPP model has taken root in China thanks to the wise leadership of the China PPP Center, strong support from various ministries and commissions, and active participation of people from all walks of life. The successful implementation of the first and second demonstration projects of the MOF has proved this model’s widely recognized initial advantages in terms of Value for Money, investment efficiency and etc. Despite various challenges on the way forward, we still firmly believe that the protection and management of water environment will be a huge market since people have an urgent need for premium environmental quality and services. The PPP model of China, marking drastic changes in concept and system innovation, will certainly play a crucial role in China’s supply-side reform, and become a worldwide demonstrator in changing concepts, stabilizing growth, facilitating reforms, adjusting structures, and improving people’s livelihood.
