CWEG Invited to Attend the Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Conference of the International Water Association
2017-11-09 During Nov. 7 to 9, 2017, the Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Conference 2017 (NRR-LWWTP 2017) successfully took place in Chongqing known as China’s “Mountain City”. The conference gathered more than 200 top industry experts from domestic and foreign institutions, including the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences and the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, to discuss on cutting-edge resource-efficient technologies and solutions for wastewater treatment & recycling and emission reduction. CWEG Vice President Shao Yanqing, Dr. Pang Hongtao and Dr. Cao Xiaoxin were invited to make keynote speeches.
The conference was co-organized by Chongqing University and the International Water Association’s special committees NRR and LWWTP, and chaired by Professor He Qiang at Chongqing University, with focus on the planning, design and operation of large-scale WWTP, as well as the technical research and management experience of resource recovery in the process of wastewater treatment. Dr. Cao Xiaoxin from CWEG shared the example of the Guang’an underground WWTP - a key part of the Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management Project - in his keynote speech.
In the Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management Project operated by CWEG, a series of innovative technologies related to energy-efficient biochemistry, precise aeration and biological removal of odor are incorporated, helping reduce land occupation and improve resource efficiency in an eco-friendly way. As the first project achieving the Surface Water Standard Quasi-Class IV in Sichuan, the project attracted wide attention from attendees for its advanced technology and innovative concept.
To assure a future of sustainable development for the city, CWEG will maintain its technological lead and partner with industry experts to continuously explore innovative wastewater treatment management systems.
