The Signing Ceremony of the Ezhou Aerotropolis Regional Water Environment Management PPP Project Successfully Kicked off

       On the morning of Nov. 29, 2017, CWEG Vice President Li Feng and Ezhou Municipal Water Authority Chief Engineer Yu Chengying, who is on behalf of the Ezhou Municipal People’s Government, signed the Ezhou Aerotropolis Regional Water Environment Management PPP Project contract at the conference room, F/4, Ezhou Municipal Water Authority. Representatives from the Ezhou Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Ezhou Municipal Finance Department, Ezhou Municipal Land and Resources Department, Ezhou Municipal Urban and Rural Planning Department, and Ezhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department, Echeng District People’s Government, Echeng District Housing and Urban-Rural Planning Construction Bureau, Huahu Development Zone Management Committee, Huahu Development Zone Housing and Urban-Rural Planning Construction Bureau, and other departments directly under the municipal government, as well as CWEG East China Division General Manager Wei Zhiwen, and representatives from Hubei Shendao Law Firm attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.


      At the signing ceremony, Ezhou Municipal Water Authority Chief Engineer Yu Chengying expressed appreciation to the government departments and consortium bidders for their hard work, and said that the project will play a prominent role in improving Ezhou’s water environment and living environment, and realizing people’s dream of living a better life. The signing ceremony unfolded a new chapter of cooperation between the two parties, and Yu Chengying hoped that a trust relationship can be cemented to ensure safe construction, making this project a benchmark for other similar projects in Ezhou.


   CWEG Vice President Li Feng appreciated the support and assistance of government departments at all levels in Ezhou for facilitating the signing of the project. According to Li Feng, CWEG is now a leading investor and operator in comprehensive water environment management in China, boasting robust project investment & financing capabilities and world-leading technologies. So far CWEG has launched 11 national water environment management PPP demonstration projects, including the Guiyang Nanming River Water Environment Management Project as an example in watershed management, the Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management Project as a benchmark in plateau lake management, and the Sichuan Guang’an “Clean Water Action” Regional Water Environment Management Project as a model in regional water environment management. CWEG is also the largest implementer (both by WWTP number and capacity) of state-of-the-art (whether in terms of technology or management) underground WWTP systems in China, and has build more than 20 high-standard underground WWTPs totaling a capacity of nearly 2 million t/d. In this strategic project, CWEG’s superiority in capital, technology, market, etc. will be combined with Ezhou’s geographical and industrial advantages to advance the city’s water environment management.


      According to the contract, this project aims to improve the inland rivers’ water quality and support the development of the Ezhou Aerotropolis by deploying urban and rural wastewater collection and treatment networks across the whole region. Jointly constructed by CWEG and Ezhou Water Group Co.,Ltd., the project will be implemented in two phases. Near-term sub-projects to be implemented include the Phase 1 Huahu WWTP (20,000 m3/d), sewer pipe network (57.06km) supporting the Huahu WWTP, new rainwater pipe network (22.25km) for the Huahu Development Zone, new rainwater and wastewater distribution pipe network (2.04km) for the Huahu Development Zone, Xiaoqiaogang Watercourse environment management (3.5km), Zhonggoutao Watercourse environment management (7.7km), and Suoquangang/Hulugang Watercourse environment management (4 km). Long-term sub-projects will include the Phase 2 Huahu WWTP (20,000 m3/d) and the Aerotropolis WWTP.
