CWEG Held its Annual Meeting 2017 in Guiyang
2018-01-20 Convened in Guiyang on the morning of Jan. 20, the CWEG Annual Meeting 2017 summarized the work done by the group in 2017 and arranged the major tasks of 2018, mobilizing all the leaders and staff to earnestly fulfill these goals and take on their missions to contribute to the leapfrog development of CWEG. Parallel sessions were held in CWEG Beijing HQ and its Divisions in Shanghai, Chengdu, Dali, Guang’an, Zhuji and etc, to live stream the Annual Meeting synchronously.
CITIC Private Equity Funds Management Co., Ltd (CITICPE) Managing Director Zhai Feng, Professor Kong Hainan of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE) at Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU), leaders from the Guiyang Water Authority and the Guiyang Ecological Civilization Construction Committee, and representatives of CWEG’s regional partners, attended the meeting and delivered addresses. Chaired by CWEG Vice President Shao Yanqing, the meeting was attended by more than 150 participants, including CWEG Chairman Hou Feng, along with the group’s executives, department heads of its Beijing HQ, heads of its regional divisions, and employee representatives.
CWEG closely follows the national policies, actively adapts to market changes, proactively innovates market strategies and optimizes business model. By developing the version 3.0 of water environment management and green development that is grounded on water quality improvement, centered on ecological civilization construction and reliant on value-added industrial upgrading, the group has its share of responsibility in the process of ecological civilization construction. Internally, over the course of 2017, CWEG has made remarkable achievements in technological innovation, strengthened talent team building, and expanded its presence continuously.
In response to the current national policy and opportunities and challenges facing the group, the Report also analyzed CWEG’s existing workplace deficiencies, and systematically arranged the key tasks for the upcoming year. According to the Report, 2018 is the 5th anniversary of the founding of CWEG, and a crucial year for the group to make new strides and reach new heights. Aspiring to become a world-leading provider of water environment management services, CWEG will, in accordance with the overall requirement of “maintaining growth, promoting transformation, strengthening management and controlling risks”, take technological innovation, financial innovation and model innovation as the driving forces to accelerate the pace of improvement in its management efficiency and realize leapfrog development.
Hou Feng, Chairman of CWEG, delivered an important speech entitled “New Era and New Starting Point”, expounding the group’s future actions in terms of corporate responsibility and mission, technology brand building, execution culture creation, and talent team building.
“2018 is also the 5th year of China""s supply-side reform and PPP reform. We should always bear in mind our mission and responsibility to really promote the implementation of PPP model to provide premium environmental services, so as to reassure both the government and people, make our group stronger and then benefit our employees,” said Hou.
Hou also expressed his gratitude to the governments at all levels, its shareholder CITICPE, and its partners for their trust and support. CWEG will stay true to its mission to deliver high-quality PPP projects in a win-win situation, and work with the government, research institutions and industry peers to help standardize China’s PPP model to better serve the national strategy.
Zhai also hoped that in 2018, through continuous innovation, CWEG can seize development opportunities to fuel its growth while ensuring the provision of premium services, and strengthen the construction of basic management system to drive standardized management. Meanwhile, fostering corporate culture and cohesion is also indispensable for CWEG to engage all employees to create a professional and excellent evergreen enterprise.
The meeting also honored individuals and teams who made outstanding achievements in 2017. Representatives of Excellent Employees shared their work experience and methods, and expressed their gratitude and appreciation to CWEG as an excellent platform that seizes historical opportunities of ecological civilization construction. They promise that in the future, they will work harder, “do the right thing”, and continue to improve their executive ability to become a high-performance employee and thus create a high-performance team. CWEG Executive Director & Vice President Li Feng urged employees to cherish their honor while staying modest and patient. In line with the “2+8+2” strategy, the group has embraced high-speed business growth and reached a new high in performance. In 2017, CWEG won 15 new projects and increased its investment by 13%. So far the group is operating throughout 18 provinces (cities and autonomous regions) in China. As a special guest, Professor Kong Hainan also shared his insights on witnessing the rapid development of CWEG in the past four years. Describing CWEG as the leader of “dark horses” in the industry, Kong suggested that CWEG should move to constantly improve its organizational structure, drive technical and model innovation, stimulate team enthusiasm and creativity, and enhance organizational efficiency so as to maximize the corporate value. Leaders from the Guiyang Water Authority and Ecological Civilization Construction Committee expressed appreciation to CWEG for its strong support to Guiyang’s ecological civilization construction. To resolve serious water pollution problems faced by Guiyang, CWEG has taken active steps and successfully achieved the 2017 goal of “river odor removal”.
