He Lianghui, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, Investigated the Shuanglang Underground WWTP
2018-03-07 On March 7, 2018, a delegation led by He Lianghui, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, investigated the Shuanglang Underground WWTP, where they checked carefully all the treatment facilities and listened to the project progress introduction made by CWEG Dali Division General Manager Meng Jianwei. Meng Jianwei also answered questions that concerned He Lianghui in detail, including wastewater treatment process, the WWTP’s operation status and costs, etc.
The delegation was deeply impressed by the Shuanglang Underground WWTP’s wastewater treatment effects, and spoke highly of CWEG’s fifth generation of proprietary underground WWTP system for its contribution to the water environment management of the Erhai Lake.
Chen Jian, Secretary of the CPC Dali Bai Prefecture Committee, and leaders of prefecture and municipal government departments accompanied the delegation on the inspection.
The Shuanglang Underground WWTP is one of the six WWTPs included in the Dali Erhai Lake wastewater Interception Project (Phase 1) and the first WWTP entering trial operation, covering an area of 15.37 mu and with a near-term treatment capacity of 5000 m3/d (long-term goal of 10,000 m3/d). The wastewater is treated using CAST technology and high efficiency sedimentation tank, for the purpose of serving a population of 472,00 across c. 3.03 km2. Part of the effluent achieving the WWTP Effluent Discharge Standard Class IA is conveyed from the effluent pump to the treatment pond for purification and agricultural irrigation. In the rainy season, the surplus tailwater will be stored in the pond to make sure that it is not directly discharged into the Erhai Lake.
