The Peicheng District Mulong River Black and Smelly Water Body Remediation PPP Project Successfully Signed in Mianyang

     On Aug. 2, 2018, CWEG and the Mianyang Peicheng District Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development signed the Mulong River Black and Smelly Water Body Remediation PPP Project (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) contract.

  At the signing ceremony, Chen Li, Director of the Mianyang Peicheng District Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, extended sincere welcome to CWEG on behalf of the Peicheng District People’s Government. According to Chen, the Project will play an important role in improving both the water and living environments of Mianyang. “As a leading investor and operator in comprehensive water environment management in China, CWEG has made remarkable achievements in its field in recent years. Its participation in this Project will ensure optimal cooperation for both parties and be conductive to the establishment of a honest and trust partnership, making the Project a benchmark project while ensuring safe construction.”  

 CWEG Chief Administrative Officer Huang Yigang expressed sincere appreciation to the Peicheng District People’s Government for its continuous care and support accorded to CWEG. He said, “With robust investment and financing capabilities, world-leading water environment management technologies, and a well-experienced team of R&D, investment, construction, operation and management, CWEG is now responsible stewards for 15 national PPP demonstration projects and the frontrunner in China’s water environment industry. In this partnership, CWEG will, relying on its technical advantages, strive to build the Project into a benchmark project of Mianyang and even of Sichuan Province, while ensuring high-quality construction.”


  According to the contract, the Project records a total investment of RMB 987.5 million, and its scope of planning includes the Peicheng District rural wastewater treatment facilities (Jinfeng, Shidong, Yuhuang and Guandi WWTPs with total capacity of 5700 m3/d) and sewer pipe network; the 50,000 m3/d Wujia WWTP and sewer pipe networks installed in Shitang Town and Wujia Town; the Yangjia WWTP (with capacity doubled to 2000 m3/d from 1000 m3/d) and sewer pipe network, the Mulong River watershed restoration plan, river dredging and ecological restoration of black and smelly water bodies.


  When completed, the Project will fundamentally improve the water ecological environment of Mianyang City’s main urban area, greatly improve the living environment and city image, and satisfy the people""s yearning for a better life, playing an important role in protecting the water ecological environment of the Upper Reaches of the Yangtze River.


  CWEG Investment Director Peng Caiyun, and Chen Li, Director of the Mianyang Peicheng District Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, signed the Project contract on behalf of both parties. Leaders from the Mianyang Peicheng District Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, CWEG Investment Department and CWEG Sichuan Division, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.
