Chen Jian, Secretary of the CPC Dali Prefectural Committee, Highly Praised the Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management PPP Project: Doing its Part, No Empty Talk, Letting the Data Speak for Itself

　　“No empty talk, let the data speak for itself.” On the morning of Sep. 5, Chen Jian, Secretary of the CPC Dali Prefectural Committee, headed to the Xizhou Underground WWTP as part of the Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management PPP Project for investigating the protection and management of the Erhai Lake. “The Erhai Lake watershed wastewater interception plan should be carried out in a precise and sound manner, so as to unswervingly win the battle for Erhai Lake protection and management,” he stressed.　
　　During the investigation, the 18-person delegation visited the Xizhou Underground WWTP and Wanqiao Underground WWTP. Meng Jianwei, CWEG Dali Division General Manager, briefed the delegation on the Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management PPP Project, wastewater interception system, wastewater collection and treatment, and WWTP trial operation.

　　Considering Dali was in its heavy rainy season, Chen Jian particularly debriefed the persons in charge about the installation of wastewater pipes (channels), and rainwater and wastewater collection in all parts of Dali. He urged leaders of Xizhou Town and Wanqiao Town to coordinate the work on the protection and management of the Erhai Lake, making sure that the untreated wastewater will not be directly discharged into the Erhai Lake. 


　　According to Meng Jianwei, the high-capacity rainwater storage ponds installed in the 6 WWTPs of this project were specially designed and constructed to react to Dali’s special climate with distinct wet and dry seasons, reflecting CWEG""s sense of social responsibility and management ability. Chen Jian highly appreciated CWEG’s efforts in this project, urging CWEG to maintain momentum to fight against the battle for Erhai Lake protection and management.



　　 At present, the Dali Erhai Lake Water Environment Management PPP Project has completed its construction of the 84.192 km main sewer pipe, 102.312 km branch sewer connected to the watercourses, 42.915 km effluent sewer, and 2.486 km trunk sewer. The Shuanglang Underground WWTP has been completed and put into trial operation. The Wase, Shangguang, Xizhou, Wanqiao, Gucheng Underground WWTPs have also been completed and put into commissioning.
