CWEG Announced its Tianfu District First Underground WWTP was Completed and Got Accepted
2018-10-22 On October 18, CWEG announced the construction of the Tianfu District First Underground WWTP was completed and got accepted. The Planning, Construction and Land Resources Bureau, Environmental Protection and Urban-Rural Planning Bureau, PPP Project Management Center, Engineering Project Quality and Safety Supervision Station and other competent departments in Tianfu New Area participated in the project acceptance meeting, to make sure the project has completed its scope of design and engineering, met relevant specifications, and established complete treatment processes while ensuring its quality.
The Tianfu District First Underground WWTP is the first underground WWTP in Chengdu, one of the second national PPP demonstration projects of the Ministry of Finance, and one of the first PPP demonstration projects in Sichuan Province. With a total investment of RMB 856 million, the first phase of the WWTP covers an area of c. 85.7 mu and has a designed capacity of 100,000t/d. It produces 10,000 tons of high-quality effluent a day, for supporting municipal use, environmental sanitation, landscaping, and greening, etc. All the wastewater treatment processes are done underground, leaving the ground area for a flowing water park for disseminating environmental protection science and the recreation of citizens. The park will become an integral part of Tianfu New Area Park City.
Commencing in October 2016, the project had completed the commissioning of water supply in August 2017 and the construction of trunk sewer in September of the same year thanks to active engagement of constructors. Meanwhile, priority was given to safe construction, and the project saw “zero accident” occurred from the start of construction to the end. The project will maintain stable operation and help improve the water quality of Xinglong Lake, providing strong guarantee for the ecological protection of Chengdu Science City with “clean water, clear lake, green banks and beautiful scenery”.
