CWEG announced its Top 10 InfluentialEvents of the past year.

1.CWEG Joins the SDIC Family

   Atthe end of 2018, the State Development & Investment Corp., Ltd. (SDIC)announced that China Water Environment Group (CWEG) has joined the SDIC familyas a professional water environment management company. In the upcoming years,CWEG will, under the full support of SDIC, move to promote the high-qualitydevelopment of China’s environmental protection industry and head toward aworldwide leader in water environment management by giving full play to itstechnical and managerial expertise.

2. CWEG Chairman Hou Feng Delivered aKeynote Speech at the “Global PPP50” Forum

   OnDecember 26, 2018, under the direction of the Ministry of Finance and PekingUniversity, the 1st Annual Conference of “Global PPP50” Forum was held by thePeking University PPP Center in Beijing. CWEG Chairman Hou Feng, who wasinvited to attend the event as a PPP environmental expert, delivered a keynotespeech.

3. The Kick-off Meeting of the Sino-GermanCentre for Water And healTh researCH Successfully Held

   OnNov. 28, the kick-off meeting of the Sino-German Centre for Water And healThresearCH (WATCH) initiated by CWEG and co-built by RWTH-Aachen Universitysuccessfully opened in Beijing. Professors Kai Reimers, Yao Gang and Dr. ElmarDorgeloh of RWTH-Aachen University, CWEG Vice President Shao Yanqing, and Dr.Pang Hongtao, Deputy General Manager of Beijing Technology R&D Center underCWEG, were in attendance.

4. CWEG Vice President Li Guoshan Invitedto the First Meeting of the PPP and Infrastructure Financing Network in theAsia-Pacific Region; CWEG’s Nanming River Project and Shanghai Jiading Projectwere Highly Commended by Officials from the United Nations

   OnSeptember 12 to 13 of 2018, with the support of the China PPP Center of theMinistry of Finance and the Guizhou Provincial Finance Department, the Economicand Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) successfully organizedthe First Meeting of the PPP and Infrastructure Financing Network in theAsia-Pacific Region at the City of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China. CWEG VicePresident Li Guoshan was invited to give a speech; A 4-person delegation led byHamza Malik, Director of the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for DevelopmentDivision of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and thePacific (UNESCAP), and Stephen Karingi, Director of the Regional Integrationand Trade Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa(UNECA), investigated the Shanghai Nanxiang WWTP on Nov. 23, and praised CWEGfor its amazing underground WWTP system.

5. CWEG Chairman Hou Feng Invited toDelivered a Keynote Speech at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation Forum2018 as a Distinguished Environmental Expert of the Ministry of Ecology andEnvironment; CWEG Successfully Elected to the Fourth Member Units of theCouncil for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation

   OnNovember 20th, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Forum 2018 hosted bythe Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation andorganized by the Qingyuan Municipal People’s Government kicked off in QingyuanCity, Guangdong Province. The forum gathered over 400 representatives fromindustrial and commercial communities, famous entrepreneurs, experts andscholars in in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. CWEG Chairman Hou Feng proposedprofessional, scientific and sound advice for the Great Bay Area’s ecological waterenvironment management in terms of technical level and implementation model.

   OnDecember 14, the fourth members"" representatives meeting of the Council for thePromotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation was held. CWEG wassuccessfully elected to the fourth members of the Council for the Promotion ofGuangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation, and is the only member unit locatedoutside the Guangdong Province. According to CWEG Vice President Chen Ming, torespond actively to the call of the Party and the state, CWEG will shoulder itsresponsibilities both as a central enterprise and the member unit of theCouncil for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Co-operation, tocoordinate with insightful people from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao tofacilitate the ecological civilization construction of the Greater Bay Area, maintaininggreen water and mountains for the Greater Bay Area during the period ofhigh-speed development.

6. CWEG Vice President Fang Yong Appointedto the Expert Review Group for the Fourth Batch of PPP Demonstration Projectsof the Ministry of Finance

   Asone of the PPP experts of the Ministry of Finance, CWEG Vice President FangYong was elected to the fourth batch of Ministry of Finance PPP demonstrationproject expert panel for a five-day centralized review.

7. Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPCSichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan, Inspected the Guang’anUnderground WWTP, Calling on the Whole Province to Learn from the “Guang’anMode”

   OnMay 19, 2018, Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committeeand Governor of Sichuan, and Tang Limim, Secretary-General of the SichuanProvincial People’s Government, along with leaders from the Research Office andthe General Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, inspected theGuang’an Underground WWTP as part of a Ministry of Finance PPP demonstrationproject implemented by CWEG. The inspection team spoke highly of the Guang’anUnderground WWTP for its superiority in “eco-friendliness, land intensivenessand resource utilization”, creating both economic and social benefits.
