An Investigation Team Led by Luo Ning, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC of Guizhou Province, Highly Commended the Zunyi Xiazi River Intergrated Water Environment Management Project
2019-03-21 On March 12, 2019, an inspectorate led by Luo Ning, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC of Guizhou Province, investigated the progress of black and smelly water body treatment in Xiang River and Xiazi River in Zunyi, and visited the Xiazi River WWTP and emergency station constructed and operated by Zunyi Zhengcheng Water Environmental Industry Co., Ltd. under CWEG.
At the Xiazi River WWTP, the inspectorate was briefed about the progress of Xiazi River water environment management, the WWTP’s construction planning, treatment capacity and effluent quality, etc., and listened to the introduction of WWTP operation status by WWTP manager Han Yiqin. Then, the inspectorate conducted an inspection of the performance of integrated treatment facilities at the emergency station. Xiang Yonggang, Deputy General Manager at Zunyi Zhengcheng Water Environmental Industry Co., Ltd., elaborated on the emergency station’s process flow and treatment capacity, etc.
CWEG’s achievements in the water environment management of Zunyi were recognized and underpinned by Luo Ning. To further push forward the project, Luo said that first, the WWTP should maintain stable operation and scientific management; second, relevant departments should enhance collaboration and take measures like rainwater and wastewater diversion, pollution source control, wastewater interception and ecological restoration to strengthen the water environment management of Xiazi River with higher standards and stricter requirements, thus securing long-acting river management. Last, a long-term management mechanism should be established to clarify water management responsibilities, helping revitalizing the urban rivers.
